Nicaragua’s venerable Garcia family released the Flor de Las Antillas brand in May 2012 using a variety of Nicaraguan tobaccos, their trademark double binders and a wrapper leaf grown in the open sunlight. They named the brand for Cuba, the largest of the Antilles Islands, which are called Antillas in their native Spanish. The Toro size was named Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar of the Year in 2012, and the company released a Maduro version of the brand in 2016. Flor de Las Antillas are distributed by the Garcia’s My Father Cigars Inc. and rolled at My Father Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua.
